FOR THE LOVE OF GAIA Through April 9, 2022 Sponsored by eQuilter.com This exhibition featuring works by thirteen award-winning quilt artists celebrates Gaia, the Greek goddess of Earth and mother of all life. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the forefront innumerable issues, including the ravages of air pollution and climate change. Shelter-in-place orders resulted in an unintended silver lining: the persistent smog lifted in Los Angeles, revealing a clear view of the skyscrapers; the majestic snowcapped Himalaya were visible for the first time in decades; and the Eiffel Tower could be clearly seen from Parisian suburbs. Wildlife could be spotted roaming streets; and it is hoped that the reduced traffic on seas may give oceans a much needed respite. It is not too late. Please look, and think about what you can do to protect Mother Gaia, who sustains us with her ancient wisdom and her powerful presence. We tell our stories visually, and we hope to touch your heart also. Luana Rubin, guest curator |

FLYING HIGH: Our Fine Feathered Friends Through April 9, 2022 This exhibition of contemporary, traditional, and studio art quilts celebrates birds and the many ways in which they help sustain our delicate ecosystems. With nearly 10,000 living species, many birds play an essential role in controlling insect populations, while nectar-feeding birds act as important pollinators. These original quilt designs offer interpretations of wild birds, details of their plumage, nests and eggs, their habitats, and even their birdsong. |

Barb Vedder: My Life in Quilts Through April 9, 2022 Barb Vedder shares a diverse selection of works from her 30-year journey to becoming an award-wining quiltmaker, designer, and instructor. Her multifaceted designs range from expertly appliqued reproductions of antique quilts to whimsical Modern quilts. Though versatile in her approach to quiltmaking, Vedder’s works are often recognized by her signature symbol, the Sparrow, a biblical reference to Matthew 10:29-31 NIV. |
