Mosaics

I have always been interested in history and the history of art.  These interests  in history and art have combined with making pottery to make the logical conbination of mosaic objects.  After years of making pottery,  I had boxes of broken pots.   Essentially, I started making drawings out of shards in a non-objective style.  Then I started making  parts of  tiles  to break into shards to make the deconstructed images.  Some of the tiles were broken and then drawn and painted in the tile with several firings with china paint.  I also carved and painted some of the frames.  I and now exploring a new series of tiles which are not ready to be shown yet.  It is fun to combine with approaches and media to create new  objects.
