How art and cultural organizations may have free ads on Art Museum Touring

Tourists like to have a bundle of activities to do when planning their travels. The ad column of each museum’s page could show the events and other things to do offered by that city's non-profit organizations. It would give our visitors a chance to buy advance tickets; increase the number of people coming to your events and make visiting you part of their plans. The more ads there are with direct links to the organizations, the more interesting your city will appear.

The ad space could be free to the organizations by partnering with a sponsor, especially those who interested in attracting tourists to their business such as a restaurant, hotels, bars, etc. Art Museum Touring is not a non-profit organization so a business may have an ad to attract more customers. It should be a win-win situation for both the organization and the sponsor who already pays to advertise their business.

First view the 4 mockup museum pages that show how an organization’s ad might appear along with a sponsor's ad. At the bottom of the mockups pages, there is ad space for businesses to have their icon with a link to its website.

The mockup pages do not necessarily match the current page for the museums shown and images used are ones we copied from the web and not actual sponsors, or advertisers.

Cincinnnati Art Museum
Shows several organizations sponsored by a national company.

Knoxville Museum of Art
Shows similar types of organizations could be grouped together in a block ad in this mockup historic homes.

Museum of Appalachia
Shows organizations that each have a single community sponsor.

Phoenix Museum of Art

  • Shows how a business could be a sponsor for a particular exhibitions.
  • The A Tribute to James Galano exhibition lisiting (second from the top) shows Macys as the Art Museum Touring fashion sponsor for this exhibitions.
  • Sponsors help Art Museum Touring keep the museum's pages free

While looking at the mockups envision what image would best work for your organization (you supply the image to Art Museum Touring). Perhaps one of your supporters would benefit from an ad promoting their business to potential tourists . Their sponsorship cost could come from their ad budget rather than its community support dollars.

The top ad spot in each of the mockups is from the city’s tourism organization. We think that the top ad spot should be an "invitation" to the Art Museum Touring fan to come and visit your city. We suggest using a piece of public art in the ad as the Knoxville ad shows. After all, the ad would be targeted to attract art lovers. It is in the “premium” position of the ad column @ $25/100 pixels tall, but should easily pay for itself drawing additional tourists to your city.

Ad location

  • Choose the museum's page where you want your ad (ad column on right size of page).
  • If you want your ad to appear on more than one museum's page, list all museum's page where you want to have an ad.
  • Each ad is an additional cost.
  • If ad sponsor is different, it will depend on the ad size.
  • Price is calculated on total ad height including sponsor's listing.

Ad rates

  • Non-profit rate is $15 per 100 pixels H by 200 pixels W.
  • Minimum ad period is 13 weeks, a quarter of a year, with no ad changes during the ad period except for corrections.

  • Ad position is based on when the ad payment is received.

  • Ad period will not start until ad copy is received.
  • Adjustments can be made depending on how much space is actually used.

  • Cost: $5/day per listing paid in advance for the run of the show, or if sponsoring a current exhibition, the remainder of the exhibition run.
