Exhibits and Events: Louisville Visual Art Association and Louisville Water Company partner in new exhibition featuring 150 years of Louisville’s Historic Water Tower! Reflections on a Louisville Landmark: 150 years of Louisville Water Company Reflections on a Louisville Landmark is an exhibition showcasing the historical Louisville Water Tower and Pumping Station at 3005 River Road in Louisville, Kentucky. The exhibition will feature a juried show of Water Tower themed artwork by local and regional artists, never-before-seen historical drawings and photographs, educational displays, and a display of Water Tower themed artwork from students in the Children’s Fine Art Classes program. This exhibition is sponsored by Louisville Water Company in partnership with the Louisville Visual Art Association. Juror and Curator, Dr. Juilee Decker, Art Department Chair at Georgetown College. Dr. Decker serves as a public art advisor to programs in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida and grant reviewer for the Kentucky Foundation for Women. Dr. Decker's professional activities include curation, research and writing, as well as presentation. She has curated more than 30 exhibitions of local, regional, and international scope.
Food for Thought The Food for Thought lecture and luncheon series brings an insider's view to visual art to the community. Local artists are invited to present their inspirations and process, and showcase individual work. This popular program takes place on the second Tuesday of each month in the Charlotte Price Gallery, and includes lunch by Cafe Fraiche. Tickets for the monthly lecture and luncheon are $20, LVAA members and $30, non-members, reservations required. |
