| The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. When classes are in session, the library is open Tuesday evenings until 8 p.m.
Library resources and programs, including exhibitions and associated lectures, are free and open to the public. The mission of LSU Libraries’ Special Collections is to administer, preserve, and make available a variety of collections, including rare books, manuscripts, and other special research collections. Special Collections offers resources for original research in many fields, ranging from the humanities and social sciences to the natural sciences, agriculture, aquaculture, the fine arts, and design. A Beneficial Harvest: Edible and Medicinal Plants from Flora of Louisiana The exhibition is free and open to the public. Featured items include watercolor drawings by world-renowned botanical artist Margaret Stones, along with 16th and 17th century herballs ,The Herball of Generall Historie of Plants by John Gerard, Pedakiou Dioskoridou tou Anazarbeos ta sozomena hapanta by Dioscorides Pedanius, Theatrum Botanicum by Berhnard Verzasca , and other historical works on the medicinal use of plants. |
